Photo Expedition to Central Park’s North Woods on May 15, 3:00-5:00 p.m.“Something tells me it’s all happening at the zoo” Simon and Garfunkel
We would like to disagree and contend that it’s all happening in the North Woods of Central Park.
Join APA and Central Park expert Harvey Kopel, for a photo trek through the mysterious North Woods. You will be in Manhattan but will feel like you’ve been transported to the Adirondacks.
We will meet at a to-be-specified uptown location, then we will follow our guide through a stone arch and leave New York City behind us. Surrounded by spring woodland bursting into new life, birds, butterflies and bees will be everywhere. And if we’re lucky the birds will eat out of our hands. In these tranquil woods, we can imagine a pre-European Manahatta and discover vestiges of earlier times. We will end in the Conservatory Garden where the crabapple Allee should be in full bloom.

Harvey Kopel has been interested in Photography since he joined the Camera Club in High School and became the Photographer for the school newspaper and annual. Harvey was a staff photographer for “Army News Features” and “The Army Information Digest”. He has exhibited with the New York Sierra Club at The Calumet Studio, The Manhattan Borough President’s Office, and The Greenwich Audubon Center. Currently, his main interest is nature photography. Harvey is a volunteer tour guide with The Central Park Conservancy and has lectured about his Central Park Photos at “The Tuesday Evening Hour”.

A signed copy of Harvey’s book ’Central Park People” will be available to order for those who are interested.
The exact Meet-up location will be emailed the day prior to the event
