Robert Tardio: Finding the Beauty in Everyday Objects

Photographer Robert Tardio was raised in the outskirts of Washington D.C.
He attended Colgate University where he studied art history, photography, and film, and received his B.A. with Honors in Fine Arts. Robert moved to New York City to pursue work as a photographer and opened his New York studio in 1987. He works on advertising, editorial, and design assignments and has received numerous awards in recognition of his creative efforts including a Clio and an MPA Kelly award. He has also been recognized by numerous publications including Print Magazine, Communication Arts, Art Direction, Graphis, PDN/Nikon, and the APA awards book.

Jeff Mermelstein, the son of Holocaust survivors, was born in 1957 in central New Jersey. His books include SideWalk (Dewi Lewis Publishing, 1999), No Title Here (powerHouse Books, 2003), and most recently, Twirl/Run (powerHouse Books, 2009). He is the recipient of an Aaron Siskind Foundation Fellowship and the European Publishers Award for Photography. His work has been published in many magazines including The New York Times Magazine, The New Yorker, Artforum, Aperture, and DoubleTake. His photographs are featured in the collections of The Art Institute of Chicago, The Museum of Fine Arts, Houston, The International Center of Photography, NY, and others. Mermelstein is represented by Rick Wester Fine Art and Bill Charles, Inc. and lives with his wife and son in Brooklyn, NY.
