Bill Cramer: An Obsessive-Compulsive’s Guide to Branding and Marketing
Bill Cramer is founder and CEO of Wonderful Machine, a web marketing portal dedicated to promoting commercial photographers to art buyers worldwide. He is also a successful photographer in his own right, specializing in environmental portraiture for clients such as Time, Forbes, Business Week, BBDO, Bauer Hockey, and Comcast.
After graduating from Penn State in 1985, Bill began his career as a freelance photojournalist, working for the Associated Press and The New York Times. He assisted many prominent photographers, including fashion photographer Steven Meisel. Over time, his interests grew to include portraiture, where he now concentrates his efforts. He has received a number of industry awards, and has been included in Communication Arts Photography Annual three times.
In 2007, Bill created Wonderful Machine as a “source book on steroids.” In addition to providing clients with a carefully chosen roster of photographers in every specialty, worldwide, Wonderful Machine actively promotes those photographers to art buyers using email campaigns, print mailers, magazine ads, phone calls, and portfolio reviews. Wonderful Machine has since grown to over 400 photographers in 50 cities around the U.S. and 50 countries around the world. And they were recently featured in Photo District News.
