Our annual Spring Portfolio Review will be April 10 at elk rentals!




Raised in KY, Shabnam pursued her passion for fashion by relocating to NYC in 2002 where she is currently a photographers’ agent at Kate Ryan Inc. In addition to the day-to-day negotiations and promotion, she is a co-founder of AdhesiveNYC, a creative, monthly networking event with a following of 2400+. Its motto is “sticking creatives together” and it does just that. Shabnam also a partner in From Scratch, a artisanal, brooklyn based locally scoured made cat food company. She loves the to lead a healthy life whether its playing softball, cooking, yoga or just jumping in her jeep and heading for the outdoors.


*Brian Bergeron* is the creative intelligence behind *b-havior*, specializing in creative direction and graphic design. *b-havior* develops and defends visual brand voice for clients in retail, non-profit, and technology industries. Currently, Bergeron serves as the Assistant Creative Director for The Museum of Modern Art (MoMA) Retail Division. He directs the MoMA Visual Brand for its retail channel at every creative touch point: from the store’s window presentations, to its online presence on MoMAstore.org and social media channels, as well as the advertising, signage and packaging for the NYC and Asian locations. In addition, Bergeron works as a team member focused on bringing the most innovative design product to the NYC marketplace through the MoMA Design Store. Bergeron is a co-founder of ADHESIVE NYC, a creative networking group focused on bringing creatives from all walks together to connect. He is an active member of the AIGA, and mentors a high school student from the High School of Art and Design in Manhattan. In his spare time, Bergeron enjoys exploring the world with his camera, running in the park, eating in the fair City of New York and going for long walks with his dog, Jasper. Brian graduated from Syracuse University with a Bachelor of Fine Arts in Illustration and a concentration in photography.


Consulting Services has over 15 years of photography experience, and an MFA in Photography. Among other positions, he has been a Photographer’s Agent at Stockland Martel and Advertising Director at Magnum Photos. He has participated in portfolio reviews at ASMP, Palm Springs Photo Festival, NY, Powerhouse and a contributor to Agency Access. His specialties include: – Portfolio; Website Design; Editing – Brand Identity; Brand Collateral Strategizing – One Year Marketing Plan – Social Media; Networking Strategies. – Estimating and Negotiating for creative fees and usage in addition to production costs. – SEO enhancement He brings his extensive experience in representing and consulting photographers worldwide on all aspects of commercial, editorial and fine art photography to the APA portfolio review. www.focusfacts.com.


DAVID J. CAROL attended the School of Visual Arts and The New School for Social Research where he studied under Lisette Model. He is the author of three award winning photography books. His first monograph was 40 Miles of Bad Road… a ten year retrospective of his personal work from 1993 through 2003. His follow-up book ALL MY LIES ARE TRUE… was a collection of photographs taken throughout his twenty five year career. His latest Non-Book “THIS IS WHY WE CAN’T HAVE NICE THINGS!” was released with a lecture and book signing at The Center for Alternative Photography in New York City. His photographs and books are in the permanent collections of many museums and corporations, including The Getty Museum, LA, Ca, The International Center of Photography, New York, NY and The Museum of Fine Arts, Houston, TX. David lectures, mentors and reviews portfolios privately as well as for organizations such as ASMP and Palm Springs Photo Festival. He is the Director of Photography at CBS Outdoor and is a weekly contributor to Emerging Photographer Magazine and a writer for Rangefinder Magazine with a monthly column called Photo Finish that features the personal work of professional photographers. David prefers to see emerging photographers, student and personal work.


Elise Daher has almost 20 years of advertising art production experience, having worked for agencies such as Rapp, BBDO, and DDB, for clients ranging from The Campbell Soup Co, Frito-Lay, Charles Schwab, M&Ms, Visa, GE, Georgia-Pacific, P&G, Merck, and Subaru. She has had the pleasure and honor of working with award winning creative directors, world-renowned photographers as well as their young proteges, and has also enjoyed interacting with some incredible illustrators and CGI artists. Currently Elise is a VP, Lead Art Buyer with Bank of America’s in-house ad agency, where she produces both video and print projects for clients such as Merrill Lynch, Merrill Edge, and US Trust. When not wearing her art buying hat, you can generally find Elise in Brooklyn, on a bicycle, with a cat, or making or eating something that is chocolate. You can also hear what she has to say on Twitter @elisedaher. Elise would prefer not to see photographers that mainly shoot fashion or food.


Mary Dail is The Big Leo.
In August of 1995, Mary moved to NYC in pursuit of a career in acting and set design.  After several creative ventures, she landed at Martha Stewart Living where she served as Photography Editor, collaborating with some of the industry’s most accomplished art directors, editors, photographers, and stylists.  It was this collective of exceptional talent that inspired her to establish a boutique agency, Big Leo Productions, strengthening her mission to foster and maintain longstanding artist-client relationships. Raised on the coast of North Carolina, Mary is crazy about the ocean and its glorious sharks, cares deeply for environmental issues, human justice as well as animal rights and is motivated daily by her very own pitbull rescue, Riley.  A verb since birth, she is totally and completely NF*A.


Agatha Maciejewski is an Art Buyer/Art Producer at Serino Coyne, an ad agency in the heart of Times Square that specializes in Broadway and theatre advertising. She has just celebrated her first year working for Serino Coyne and has had the pleasure of producing photo shoots for plays and musicals such as Mamma Mia!, The Nance, Bring it On, Leap of Faith, Chaplin, Jekyll & Hyde, Pump Boys & Dinettes, Seminar and Dead Accounts– to name a few! In additional to sourcing original photography and producing the shoots, she also hires top-notch illustrators and CGI artists for projects and negotiates use of existing imagery for Broadway shows. Prior to joining Serino Coyne, she had her hand in producing a wide variety of creative content at McCann Erickson for such clients as Applebee’s, Verizon FiOS, Mastercard, Exxon Mobil, Acuvue and Unilever . Agatha has also worked as an Art Producer at LoweWorldwide & MRM before and has spoken on various panels, including “PDN’s 30 under 30” at the 2010 and 2011 Photo Plus Expo, and acted as a reviewer at many ADC and ASMP portfolio reviews.


Soriano began her career in Los Angeles working with some of the world’s top celebrity and fashion photographers. Beginning in front of the camera before moving into production, she eventually cut her teeth in Dubai where she began representing photographers on an international level for the first time.  In 2011, she returned to her native Los Angeles and founded Ramona Reps, a boutique photographer’s agency representing both seasoned veterans and groundbreaking new talent. Currently representing six photographers who cover a broad stylistic spectrum, Ramona Reps and their photographers do more than offer mere images; they provide outside-the-box creative solutions in an industry that changes daily. Ramona prefers to meet with photographers that are geared towards advertising and shoot people.

Reviews will last 15 minutes, and each attendee will have three 15-minute sessions. You may choose to have all 3 reviews used for your still portfolio, all 3 for a 5 minute reel or short, or have a mix of both. Once you have registered, you will be contacted to select your top 4 reviewers; we will schedule your 3 reviews based on your top choices.
