Anthony Rodale : Photographer

Anthony Rodale is a photographer and triathlete. He recently completed his second Marathon des Sables, a week-long ultramarathon covering 140 miles of the Sahara desert in Morocco.  A graduate of Brooks Institute of Photography in 1987, Anthony is part of the Rodale family that publishes Runner’s World. Anthony has also been involved with many organic and sustainable farming activities in the US and around the world since 1988. In 2008 he received an Organic Spirit Award given by the American Organic Trade Association and New Hope Natural Media.  In 2011, Anthony and his wife Florence Rodale created FloreAnt Projects “Sustainability through the Art of Photography” inspiring people to look at sustainability through the work of photographers.

Sarah Hartman : Founder + President : Race2Rebuild

Sarah is a marathoner, triathlete, Brooklyn resident and founder of Race2Rebuild, the new charity racing team for the 25 year-old non-profit, Rebuilding Together and their disaster relief projects. In their first season, athletes will have two opportunities to rebuild two homes destroyed by Hurricane Sandy. Next year, Race2Rebuild will expand to race four races around the country and offer athletes a “Pick Your Own Race” option so they may turn their training and resolve to cross the finish line into tangible results by supporting Rebuilding Together’s disaster relief projects.

Michael Grohman : Partner : Duane Morris LLP

Michael D. Grohman is chair of the Wealth Planning Practice Group and head of the firm’s New York office. Mr. Grohman practices in the areas of tax and estate planning and administration, with particular emphasis on estate planning for owners of closely held businesses. In 2007, Mr. Grohman was included in Worth magazine’s annual listing of the top 100 attorneys in the U.S. for estate planning. Mr. Grohman is admitted to practice in New York and New Jersey. He is a frequent lecturer for the Practising Law Institute. He is a 1993 graduate of New York University School of Law (LL.M., taxation), a 1983 graduate of Brooklyn Law School and a graduate of Brooklyn College of the City University of New York. Grohman, the managing partner of Duane Morris’ New York office and chair of the firm’s Wealth Planning Practice Group, spearheads the firm’s work on behalf of GEMS. Grohman has not only implemented each of the pilot projects that comprise the firm’s overall pro bono GEMS Initiative, but he also participates in each project along with many of his colleagues firmwide—attorneys and staff alike.

Veronica De La Cruz : Founder/Director : Hope for Hearts

Veronica De La Cruz is an msnbc anchor and one of the current hosts of NBC’s Early Today Show and msnbc’s First Look. De La Cruz joined msnbc’s dayside team in 2010. Prior to joining msnbc, De La Cruz spent five and a half years at CNN Worldwide, serving as an anchor and correspondent. Most recently, she was a correspondent for CNN’s “American Morning.” In addition, she founded and anchored CNN Pipeline and created the segment “Dotcom Desk,” which launched during the 2004 Southeast Asian tsunami. During her tenure at CNN, De La Cruz anchored and reported live coverage of major breaking news stories such as Hurricane Katrina, the Southeast Asian Tsunami, the 2008 presidential elections, the Israeli-Hezbollah conflict, the death of Ronald Reagan, Pope John Paul II, the collapse of Wall Street, the housing market crash, child prostitution on Craigslist, and a series that celebrated diversity entitled “Asian in America.” In addition to her role as an msnbc anchor, Veronica De La Cruz is an active volunteer with groups promoting healthcare reform and started a non-profit organization entitled “Eric De La Cruz’s Hope for Hearts” in honor of her brother Eric, who passed away after a struggle to get health insurance with a pre-existing medical condition. He passed away in 2009.
