Renowned for her authentic storytelling, Nikon Ambassador Deanne Fitzmaurice captures unscripted moments and real people. Deanne’s dedication to genuine, impactful photojournalism has made her a sought-after photographer for the world’s most iconic brands, including Amazon, Apple, Nike and Google. She also collaborates with nonprofit organizations like the Bill and Melinda Gates Foundation to help tell their powerful stories.
For over two decades, Deanne served as a photojournalist for the San Francisco Chronicle, documenting transformative events across the Bay Area. Her lens captured the most severe earthquake in nearly a century, landmark Supreme Court rulings, major U.S. wars, climate change, and significant sports events. Her compelling work drew the attention of global publications, leading to assignments with National Geographic, Sports Illustrated, ESPN, and others.
Deanne's photographic essay of a young Iraqi war victim named Saleh earned her the Pulitzer Prize in 2005. She has received numerous prestigious awards in photojournalism, including Pictures of the Year International, AI-AP American Photography, Communication Arts, and NPPA, often multiple times.
As a passionate storyteller, Deanne frequently lectures at Stanford University and speaks at global events, sharing her insights on life, creativity, business, and cultivating a winning mindset. Deanne and her husband, photographer Kurt Rogers, co-founded Think Tank, the renowned camera bag company.
